Mala prayer beads and meditation beads

A Mala prayer and meditation necklace can have different sizes or lengths - depending on the diameter of the individual beads - and traditionally consists of 108 individual beads that can be moved a little; it is usually made from natural products, in Buddhism bodhi tree wood beads are also often used, as Buddha attained enlightenment under a bodhi tree. Held in the hands, the Mala is used to count the mantras recited, the individual beads move gently through the fingers and support the process of concentration and meditative self-centering: a prayer or blessing, a mantra, is always spoken 108 times, regardless of whether it is verbalized externally - spoken or sung - or as a thought. The Mala is worn wrapped around the neck or wrist. It is now a fashionable accessory as well as a symbolic and everyday piece of jewelry! The large pearl at the end - or beginning - of a mala symbolizes the infinite wisdom of the universe, realized through complete emptiness, the cylindrical pearl represents this emptiness itself. As a pair, they remind us that all obstacles can be overcome, that the greatest obstacles themselves "only" exist in our heads, that we can live without fear and full of trust....

It is important that our thoughts are pure and truthful while we recite, think or chant a mantra: because a mantra is actually the practical use of positive energies that help us grow, raise awareness and protect our soul.

A mantra is a collection of syllables from the Tibetan or Sanskrit alphabet. The effect is created by repetition, and it becomes stronger the longer one recites and internalizes it - at least 108 times. The sound that is created when reciting or singing externally is also of key importance. The vibration of the sound produces and creates a unique spiritual impression in the mind of the person praying. It is said that a mantra is like a human being: one has to go through various stages before the healing, purifying effect - the purification of the mind - is achieved. There are many and very different mantras, they always carry the potential for healing, each in its own special way. So-called Siddha mantras are those that are passed on from a spiritual master to his/her student.
